Here are some highlighted events to consider:
Head to Elwood, where thousands are expected to visit the 46th annual Elwood Glass Festival, which continues today and runs through 4 p.m. Sunday at Callaway Park.
A full schedule of events, as well as more than 100 vendors offering a variety of fair food, crafts and commercial merchandise, are planned throughout the weekend.
Today’s entertainment highlights include a performance by Grammy-nominated country music artist Doug Stone, who will take the stage from 7 to 9 p.m.
Parking and admission are free. Animals, including dogs (except service animals), bikes and golf carts are not allowed in the park during the festival. For more information, visit elwoodglassfestival.com.
A ball for a good cause
Anderson Mayor Thomas Broderick Jr. will host the annual Mayor’s Charity Ball beginning at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, at Anderson Country Club. All proceeds from the event will go toward Anderson Community Schools students and their education.

Can Colts get untracked?
A Colts offense that put up just 230 yards in a sloppy loss to Detroit in the preseason opener last week got some more bad news Thursday when it was announced that center Ryan Kelly would undergo surgery on a foot injury and will more than likely miss significant regular season action.
It’s against that backdrop that Indianapolis travels to Dallas for its second exhibition game tonight, against the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. The Colts will welcome back some key contributors on defense, including projected starters Jon Bostic and Antonio Morrison at inside linebacker. Backup quarterback Scott Tolzien gets his second straight start in place of Andrew Luck.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m., and the game will be broadcast locally on FOX59.
