World of Warcraft's next major patch, which readies the game for Legion, the game's sixth expansion, is coming on Tuesday, and the new Demon Hunter class will be made available in mid-August to those who preorder Legion.
Blizzard says that the Demon Hunter will be available to pre-purchase gamers "around the second or third week of August," but no later than Aug. 17. The Demon Hunter will be the 12th character class in the game and second "hero class," alongside the Death Knight introduced in 2008's Wrath of the Lich King.
Next week's patch also introduces a slew of changes to the game's character classes and their specifications that were revealed back in November. The changes to classes and specifications is applied across the game whether or not a player buys Legion. The changes are meant to make the 11 classes in World of Warcraft more distinct. A series of preview blogs can be seen here, for an explanation of the changes to each class.
Additionally, the patch now means that a player may queue up for raids, dungeons or other instances as one class while continuing to play as another while they wait.
The patch includes an update to World of Warcraft's Transmogrification Collections system as well, making it easier to sort, browse and store gear without occupying storage slots in a user's inventory, bank or Void storage.
More details are available at the link. World of Warcraft: Legion launches on Windows PC and Mac on Aug. 30.
