DECATUR, Ala. - Around 40,000 people are expected to attend the 50th annual Spirit of America Festival in Decatur this 4th of July weekend.
Festival Chairmen Steve Garner says he is looking forward to a big turnout.
"We're hoping everybody will come out here and enjoy the festival, we're hoping it's the biggest one yet of course for the fiftieth, got lots planned for them."
The festival has a lot going on, with 22 food trucks to choose from, live entertainment and a fun for all ages.

"We've got a carnival going on -- starts about Noon everyday and goes until about 11 o'clock with all the carnival rides," Garner said.  "We've got the inflatables, we've got everything you'd look for in a festival."
And of course, their big fireworks display on July 4th is expected to draw a big crowd. Garner says they plan on doing it, rain or shine.
"The awards show Monday night at about 8 o'clock, got entertainment for 5 o'clock, and fireworks at 9:45," Garner said.
