Saunders, a Burke High School graduate and three-time NCAA champion in the shot put, begins her effort to make the U.S. Olympic team at 2 p.m. Eastern Time in the qualifying round at Heyward Field. The top 12 advance to the finals, set for 9:15 p.m. ET. The top three finishers in the finals will qualify for the Olympic Games next month in Rio de Janeiro.

Saunders, a sophomore at Ole Miss, ranks third among U.S. women at the Trials with a throw of 19.33 meters, behind top-seeded Michelle Carter (20.21) and Tia Brooks (19.73).

Camacho-Quinn, a Fort Dorchester graduate and redshirt freshman at Kentucky, won the 100-meter hurdles at the NCAA Championships this season. The preliminaries of the 100 hurdles begin at 8:02 p.m. ET. The top 21 times will advance to three semifinal heats, set for Friday.
