BISMARCK, N.D. - Tomorrow morning starting at 7 a.m. primary elections start.
It's the day where residents choose who they want to hold public office.
To be able to vote you have to bring documentation that has your name, date of birth, and address that proves you've lived in the precinct for 30 days.
If you have an ID from out of state, you can use a utility bill to prove you live in the precinct.
In North Dakota there are 432 polling sites.
In Bismarck there are 24 precincts and in Mandan there's 11 precincts in five locations.
"You must vote in the precinct where you reside. So, you can't just go to any one of the 27 locations in Burleigh County," said Kevin Glatt, Burleigh County auditor.
The State Elections Director says there's at least one polling place in every county.
"Even those counties that work, run vote by mail, do have at least one polling place open on election day," said John Arnold, State Elections director.
To find out where your precinct is you can go online to vote.nd.gov.
On the ballot this primary election there aren't any statewide measures, only candidates running for public office.
"It's those local contests that really matter, and hopefully people will turn out for that," said Arnold.
Glatt says he expects there to be a below average amount of people voting during the primary election.
"Voter turnout is based upon what's on the ballot," said Glatt.
Glatt says he believes that local races are most important, and wants people to get out and vote.
