POMONA >> Police caught a burglary suspect trying to flee an adult Pomona business Sunday, authorities said.
It happened at 5:29 a.m. at the Strip Joint at 1405 East Mission Blvd., Pomona police Sgt. Dennis Cooper said.
Officers responded to a burglar alarm at the adult entertainment venue, Cooper said. “When officers arrived at the location they saw an open door to the business.”
Officers announced their presence and the suspect, identified as Aaron Onofre, fled from a side door, the sergeant said. Officers chased him a short distance and caught him.
Onofre had a cash box with about $1,000 inside and methamphetamine, Cooper said.
The 31-year-old Pomona resident was booked into the Pomona jail on suspicion of burglary and possession of methamphetamine with bail set at $50,000 and a Tuesday court appearance scheduled.
