A cinema in Mtn. View has made big changes and improvements under new ownership and has taken steps that business officials say has impressed its community.
Ozark Mountain Cinema has been named the business of the month by Mtn. View Chamber of Commerce, highlighting its vast transformation over the past three months under new ownership.
Formerly named Timber Creek Cinema, the business was purchased by Tammie and Keith Patterson in December 2016. Since the new owners took over, the entire facility has been remodeled and updated.
“We can’t thank those who helped us with the changes enough,†said Tammie. “Intech Carpet Cleaning of West Plains cleaned all the carpets and seats. Jeremy Fullerton with J&J Construction of Birch Tree painted and remodeled the cinema.â€
The business has been in the same location for the past 10 years at 510 E. Industrial Drive in Mtn. View.
When discussing the business name, Tammie said, "We wanted to choose something that ties into our surroundings and embraces the people who are our customers. That’s why we chose Ozark Mountain Cinema. Our signs and logos were designed by Ryder Sechrest who did an amazing job. What do people around here enjoy? The outdoors, fishing. He was able to design a perfect sign that fits our area.â€
The business offers three screens with about 600 seats available.
Showtimes are 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Fridays; matinees at 1 and 4 p.m. and regular showings at 7 and 9:30 p.m. on Saturdays; and a matinee at 2 p.m. with a regulal 5 p.m. showing on Sundays.
The cinema opens its doors 45 minutes prior to showtime to allow viewers plenty of time to choose an assortment of snacks and find seats.
The owners said the newly updated equipment offers exceptional sound and picture with one cinema boasting 3D showings.
This weekend, the newly released “Beauty and the Beast†will be playing in 3D with a special showing at 7 p.m. today. In the other two theaters, “Kong†and “Brimstone,†a Canadian Western starring Dakota Fanning and Guy Pearce.
With a Western-themed décor and boasting clean facilities, the new owners are ready to bring the very best experience to their customers.
The cinema has amped up its menu of snacks and beverages, now offering in-house “Ozark Mountain Bites,†a sweet twist on churros. An Icee machine will soon be added to its selection of candy, popcorn, beverages, Dipping Dots and gourmet and stuffed pretzels.
The team of nine employees at Ozark Mountain Cinema are more akin to an extended family rather than workers and bosses.
“I’ve known most of these kids since they were little,†said Tammie. “They’re so great to work with and they’d do almost anything I’d ask them to do. We’re more like family here.â€
Walking through the doors of Ozark Mountain Cinema, the new changes are evident and welcoming to its customers. The desire of the owners and employees to offer their viewers an exceptional experience of a night at the movies while feeling the relaxation of being at home in the Ozark mountains is a priority that shows in the recent renovations.
