The Palm Beach County Sheriffâ€™s Officeâ€™s â€œRisky Businessâ€ prostitution operation led to 18 arrests Tuesday on the south end of suburban Boca Raton.
Most of the people arrested were young men in their 20s and from near Boca Raton, records show. One of the people arrested, though, was more than 80 years old, the sheriffâ€™s office said.
Another man used a translator on his phone â€œto facilitate the crime,â€ the sheriffâ€™s office said.
A handful of the men arrested live in Broward County. One lives in Miami, records show.
Most of those arrested face a charge of soliciting a prostitute.
The sheriffâ€™s office recent prostitution operations that have netted arrests have been centered near Lake Worth or Greenacres. Most recently, 11 women were arrested in Lake Worth.
In January, at least 14 people were arrested in another prostitution sting in the city, the sheriffâ€™s office said. That followed late Novemberâ€™s â€œOperation Street Sweeper III,â€ which led to 45 arrests in Lake Worth.
