The event's second year adds more local, regional, and national speakers and exhibitors
The second annual NashvilleÂ VegFest will be held April 8-9 at the fairgrounds. The event seeks to promote "a plant based, healthy, cruelty-free lifestyle" by featuring exhibitors and speakers that promote and/or maintain a vegan lifestyle.Exhibitors range from nonprofit organizations that promote vegan and healthy lifestyles or animal advocacy to goods and services that are animal- and cruelty-free, such as vegan cosmetics, apparel, cookbooks and guidebooks, compost and travel. There will also be a number of food vendors, including popular vegan Nashville restaurants, like the The Southern V (which specializes in vegan comfort food), as well as vegan food vendors, both local and national, such as Grab the Gold bars and BE Hive seitan products.Speakers at the event include several noted authors who will discuss the benefits of a vegan lifestyle as well as a representative of the Isha Foundation, a global nonprofit organization that promotes yoga and spirituality. The foundation runs the Isha Institute, a yoga and wellness retreat in McMinnville.Tickets for the event are $10 for single-day passes and $15 for weekend passes up to $75 for tickets that include gifts and early entry to the event. Kids under 15 are free.
