By Robin Deehan | rdeehan@pahomepage.com Related EAST STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTYAround 60 athletes participating in a week-long rugby camp at East Stroudsburg University Thursday said they are hopeful the Olympic Games will help grow the sport right here at home."The growth in rugby has been huge since 2009, since the Olympic announcement has been made," camp director Kevin Castner said. "Where on the high school front, the college front and even on the youth front, it's the largest growing team sport in the U.S."Rugby returns to the Olympic Games for the first time since 1924 and Team USA will be competing at Rio."I think having the U.S. team represent us in the Olympics is going to be awesome for the team, for the sport and just the U.S. knowing about rugby as a whole," Bloomsburg University Rugby Player Jade Hensinger said.The campers said besides being excited about the growth of the game, they are also excited for others to see how fun it is."The intensity is part of what makes it so fun," camper Kai Wynkoop said.
