Our country needs to change the manner in which they declare winners in elections. Why? Because in my opinion, there are too many people voting by mail and too many provisional ballots to be able to determine the outcome the same day as the election. The provisional ballots have until Thursday after election day to cure defects in their ballot; and most election offices are counting mail-in ballots for days afterwards.
It’s a shame that the Broward ballot was poorly structured, because there is no doubt Bill Nelson and perhaps Gillum would have won. But, of course, elections are over in Slick Rick‘s mind, so he declares himself a winner even before Nelson concedes. I suppose if you spend $50 million of your own money to attack your opposition with lies and innuendo, you might believe you have the “right” to win.
This country is so divided. We do not need candidates to behave like spoiled children. Let’s nominate candidates who are mature, thoughtful, empathetic, intelligent and ready to address the needs of the majority of Americans, not line their pockets and the pockets of their supporters.
