Former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones continues to exist in a mysterious USADA induced limbo. Flagged by the drug testing agency for Turinabol following his (now overturned) win over Daniel Cormier in July of 2017, he faces a suspension of up to four years, which is probably why his team is taking as much time as they can get trying to work out a lesser punishment.

Who knows exactly what is going on behind the scenes. The last time we got a glimpse into the details surrounding Jones’ case, it did not look good. Sure, he made a convincing case that only an idiot would pass all random testing only to fail the scheduled pre-fight test. But then he admitted to not only skipping all the mandatory USADA educational training, but having his management do it for him. Keep in mind this was after his last brush with USADA over tainted boner pills. So the jury is out.

We have to say, though: there’s a definite feeling in the air that Jones news is coming soon, and he could be back any moment. “Bones” fanned those flames over the weekend, putting up a photo on his Instagram showing him with his agent Malki Kawa at UFC headquarters.

2 1 mission, all business.

”Two goats, one mission, all business,” he wrote.
Jones was already in Las Vegas at the Mr. Olympia 2018 event for a sponsored appearance so this photo could mean very little, but the UFC could sure use Jones back on the roster. It’s got a couple of big gaps on its upcoming cards, with UFC 230 at Madison Square Garden delaying its ticket sales as the promotion works on putting together a worthy main event. With only seven weeks before the event and a load of red tape for Jones to cut through, we wouldn’t get our hopes up too much.
