Illinois’s most closely watched House primary race is for a Chicago-area seat that exposed tensions among Democrats. Representative Daniel Lipinski, a conservative Democrat with deep ties to the party machine in the city, overcame a challenge in the Democratic primary on Tuesday by Marie Newman, a marketing consultant who amassed a number of endorsements from progressive groups, according to The Associated Press.
