Here are five games to watch in Week 5:
Carroll (4-0) at CJ (4-0)
It’s showdown time in the GCL North. The Patriots and the Eagles both put perfection on the line at Roger Glass Stadium on Friday night. CJ is the top-ranked Division III team in the state.
This will be the final game of the season for CJ quarterback Ryan Minor. The junior transferred in from Stebbins and due to the new OHSAA rules, he can play the first five games of the season and that’s it.

All Minor has done in four games is throw for 942 yards and 15 TDs as the Eagles have put up an average of 44 points per game.
Carroll has dominated four opponents but none of them has won more than one game. The Patriots will rely a lot on senior running back Fred Butts.
Miamisburg (4-0) at Troy (4-0)
Another unbeaten battle in the GWOC as the Vikings come off a program-defining win over Wayne last week.
Troy is winning with defense. The Trojans have allowed only 29 points in the first four games.
Miamisburg’s offense is averaging 37 points a game, and veteran quarterback Tate Vongsy has been very good at distributing the ball.
Northmont (4-0) at Wayne (2-2)
When the season started this looked like the best game of the week, but Wayne limps in with back-to-back losses. Jay Minton’s team needs to stop the bleeding quickly because the second half schedule is a minefield.

Miles Johnson has a bunch of weapons at his disposal. The T-Bolts quarterback has thrown 11 TD passes in four games, seven of those have gone to junior wideout Justin Golson.
Northmont is the highest-scoring team in the GWOC. After scoring 108 points in its first two games, Wayne has given up 77 points in two straight losses.
Lebanon (3-1) at Springfield (4-0)
The Wildcats have a bunch of talented skilled players and Maurice Douglass is not afraid to run you over. That’s what Springfield did at Centerville last Friday. The Wildcats rushed for 464 yards on the road.
Lebanon has won three in a row after a season-opening loss. The Warriors finally found some offense in last Friday’s 41-10 win over Beavercreek. Before that Lebanon had failed to score more than 15 points in any of their first three games, but two of those were wins.
Ansonia (3-1) at Ft. Loramie (3-1)
The Tigers and the Redskins are both coming off impressive wins in Week 4. Loramie went on the road and handed Miami East its first loss, while Ansonia beat Bethel 28-19 at home.
Both of these teams will be a tough out in the Division VII tournament.
