Microsoft has a very strong lineup of free Games With Gold titles coming to Xbox One and Xbox 360 this coming November.
The morning after Halloween you'll be able to download two of these titles, with the second of the four landing on November 16th.
As you can see from the picture above, Battlefield 1 headlines November's Games with Gold, the free titles Microsoft hands out to Xbox Live Gold subscribers each month.
Battlefield 1 was an excellent historical first-person shooter that came out in 2016. It has single-player vignettes instead of a full-fledged campaign, but each of these is actually quite good. Meanwhile there's a robust multiplayer that's still going fairly strong even two years later.
Here's the full list of games coming to Xbox One and Xbox 360 in November:
Battlefield 1 (87% on Metacritic) Nov. 1st - 30th
Race the Sun (84% on Metacritic) Nov. 16th - 30th
Xbox 360 (Backwards Compatible)
Assassin's Creed (81% on Metacritic) Nov. 1st - 15th
Dante's Inferno (73% on Metacritic) Nov. 16th - 30th
Like I said, a pretty solid lineup. The lowest score of all these is Dante's Inferno which isn't even that low at 73%. That's a game I somehow missed back when it came out last generation, and since it's backwards compatible I plan to give it a spin next month.
Race The Sun is a cool, minimalist spaceflight game that I think you should just watch a trailer to get a feel for:
And of course, the original Assassin's Creed, the game that started it all and has blossomed into a massive, multi-billion dollar franchise over the years, is something everyone should try. I still remember the first time I played that game. It blew me away. Of course, I wasn't fond of the modern story aspects of the game then and I'm even more annoyed by them now, but what a cool, different game it was at the time.
In any case, we should find out which games Sony is releasing free for PlayStation Plus subscribers soon, so stay tuned. You can check out which games are still free for Xbox One and Xbox 360 in October here.
