Dublin welcomes a fun new entertainment option this month. The beloved Stella Theatre – which dates back to the 1920s – has been renovated, and reopens its doors to the public on Hallowe’en; 31 October.

Today, it offers up a fun and glitzy alternative to anyone looking for a unique night out in Dublin.
Keen to stay true to the beloved cinema’s roots, the space has been decorated with a glamorous 1920s theme in mind. In fact, many original features have been worked into the redesign.

“During the restoration”, says Aoife Kelly of Press Up Entertainment, “some beautiful 1920s features like the original façade were uncovered. There’s a typical art deco handrail which guides you up to the first-floor balcony, detailed mosaic tiling of the original Stella logo, and ceiling mouldings which can be seen kindly restored and dotted throughout the theatre.”
As well as this striking old-world decor, the Stella promises a unique cinematic experience. Visitors will enjoy movies from cosy red armchairs, sofas, or – if they want to get really comfortable – one of the cinema’s double beds. There’ll also be a full food menu, as well as bespoke cocktails available from the adjoining Stella Cocktail Club. There’s an outdoor terrace too, where movie-goers can enjoy a tipple before heading into the big screen.
