HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
Hawaii born actor Jason Momoa has made a splash onto the cover of Entertainment Weekly, promoting his starring role in the DC film “Aquaman.”
The Entertainment Weekly cover story highlights the anticipated Warner Bros. and DC superhero film.
“Rarely has a superhero character been married to the real-life actor as much as Aquaman and Jason Momoa,” producer Peter Safran said in an Entertainment Weekly article. “He’s authentically from two worlds, he’s this real physical specimen, he’s got this humor which he’s never been allowed to play before — in every regard he is Aquaman.”
The article described the film as “DC’s biggest swing yet,” by making a movie revolve around a character who was made fun of by fans for decades.
Momoa is best known for playing Kahl Drogo in “Game of Thrones” and Declan Harp in “Frontier.”
He played Aquaman before in 2016’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and again in the 2017 “Justice League.”
Now, the actor will be taking the lead as the half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry.
Aquaman will be in theaters December 21, 2018.
