Elkhorn's Brooke Carlson rare in age of extinction for multi-sport athletes in girls sports

The Omaha Skutt volleyball coach, who led the SkyHawks to Class B championships the past two years, went to Nebraska as a two-sport athlete in 1995. She helped NU win a national championship in volleyball and later played Husker basketball, too.

Elkhorn’s Brooke Carlson committed to UNK in basketball. But playing football and soccer, she said, helped her footwork and coordination.
