WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) -- "Cemetery Cinema" at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wausau Friday night brought several dozen people out to watch "Ghostbusters."
This comes after criticism last month.
Some people, with family members buried there, said the concept is disrespectful, but owners say it's a great way to respectfully use a large empty green space and take away some of the fear young children have when visiting a cemetery.
"Restlawn has 300 acres, only 80 are developed, so we have a lot of green space and do consider ourselves a park and a green space within the community. So, obviously we are respecting the site and not in any place where there are any burials," Restlawn President and Owner, Christine Toson Hentges, said.
The owners say there have been similar events in Milwaukee, and they hope to hold an additional outdoor screening later this year.
