Justice League's middling critical and commercial performance has rubbed many fans of the DCEU the wrong way. In response to that, some have called for DC and Warner Bros. to release Zack Snyder's rumored 3-hour cut of the film with all of the deleted scenes that never made it beyond the trailers. The movement is snowballing, and now it looks like even Zack Snyder has chimed in on the matter. In a mysterious turn of events, the original Justice League director recently liked the petition on social media. Check out a picture below to see for yourself.

That picture does say a thousand words. Although Zack Snyder doesn't seem to have issued any public statements about the possibility of an extended Justice League cut, the fact that he has liked the petition calling for one seems telling to some fans. For some, the like has been construed as tacit approval of the idea, and unspoken support that fans do indeed deserve the director's cut with more of the scenes that didn't make the theatrical film -- ranging from an unused final scene involving members of the Green Lantern Corps showing up at the home of Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck), as well as a sequence in which Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) rescues Iris West (Kiersey Clemons) from a runaway truck.

Zack Snyder isn't the first member of the Justice League crew to potentially show some degree of support for a director's cut of the film. Justice League cinematographer Fabian Wagner recently came out and admitted that he too would like to see the 3-hour cut of the movie debut at some point. When you add that to the growing fan support for the director's cut, it seems possible that it could actually happen.

Now, before any of us get too excited about the fact that Zack Snyder has liked this petition, it's worth considering a few other factors. Chief among these is the fact that a like on a petition doesn't inherently mean that he wants to see an extended cut hit shelves. Snyder liking this petition on a social platform could merely say that he appreciates the fan support for his vision, and not that he thinks that it's going to happen.

There's also the fact that Zack Snyder's 3-hour cut of Justice League might not even exist in the way that some fans are assuming. In fact, one member of the Justice League crew recently came out and categorically denied the possibility that WB has a 3-hour cut merely lying around that it refuses to release. At this point, it's unclear as to what exactly is going on with the Justice League director's cut, but it's pretty evident that the situation hasn't gone unnoticed by Snyder.

Justice League is currently in theaters. Looking ahead to the next year of major film releases (superhero genre or otherwise) check out our 2017 movie premiere guide and our 2018 movie premiere guide and fill out your moviegoing calendars accordingly!
