After more than 60 years as one of the nationâ€™s favourite board games, Cluedo hasÂ made a drastic change: one of the key characters â€“ housekeeper Mrs White â€“ has been killed off.
She will be replaced with another female character called Dr Orchid. Unlike Mrs White, the â€˜datedâ€™ housekeeper, Dr Orchid is a biologist with a PhD in plant toxicology and was privately educated in Switzerland (until her expulsion after an incident involving daffodils resulted in a near-fatal poisoning).
In other words, she's pretty badass, as far as board games go.
The decision by toy makers Hasbro has largely been seen as a positive move to bring the game into the 21st century with more prominent female characters.
