Spotlight and The Big Short rank in the 50 Best Movies on Netflix!
It’s been a bit about two weeks since Netflix released a new movie worthy of joining our rankings of the 50 Best Movies on Netflix.
We wanted to take this opportunity to remind our fellow Netflix viewers that Spotlight and The Big Short, two of the best movies of 2015, are now available to stream on Netflix!

Spotlight and The Big Short also rank in the 50 Best Movies on Netflix, and in this week’s update of the ranking, we are featuring both movies, Spotlight and The Big Short!
If you have not seen these movies on Netflix yet, you have to watch them on the streaming service this weekend. It will definitely be worth your time.

Spotlight 

Spotlight won the Oscar for Best Picture at the 2016 Academy Awards along with the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
Tom McCarthy and Josh Singer wrote the screenplay for Spotlight. McCarthy also directed the film. Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton, Rachel McAdams, Liev Schreiber, John Slattery, Brian d’Arcy James, and Stanley Tucci starred in the film.
Spotlight tells the true story of a team of journalists and reporters with the Boston Globe who exposed a pattern of sexual abuse among some members of the Catholic Church in the Boston area. The film is set in the early 2000s.

The Big Short 
The Big Short is based on Michael Lewis’s book The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine, which detailed the financial collapse and housing market crash of the 2000s. Adam McKay and Charles Randolph wrote the screenplay for the film, and McKay also directed The Big Short. 
Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling, Steve Carell, and Christian Bale starred in the film.
The film focuses on four men who foresaw the market collapse and bet against the crash.
The Big Short was nominated for five Oscars at the 2016 Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director (Adam McKay), and Best Supporting Actor (Christian Bale). The film also won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.
